A winner of the CBC Young Artists Competition, Gaétan Sauvageau has already appeared in several lead roles. Recently, he was heard in the production of Strauss’s Salome at the Opéra de Montréal. He was also heard in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi and La fanciulla del West at the Opéra de Montréal, Offenbach’s La vie Parisienne at the Société d’Art lyrique du Royaume, as well as in Bizet’s Carmen on tour in France, Germany, and Poland. He portrayed Prince Danilo in Léhar’s The Merry Widow at the Opéra-Théâtre de Rimouski, and sang the role of the Governor in Bernstein’s Candide at the Toronto Operetta Theatre. Gaétan Sauvageau studied at the Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Music where he received his Master’s in voice.
